General Membership Social: Date TBD, typically late June . All members are invited to our gathering that is the traditional kickoff to the 2026 season! Food and drink provided. Pay dues, get study materials and start talking about the sport we love!

2026 Off Season Zoom Trainings

We are again collaborating with the CFOA on offseason training they will be presenting (see schedule below), and the NNFOA will also be presenting training this Spring focusing on the Umpire position (aka "THE UNION"), led by President Mark Jacoby, with special guest presenters. Each session is expected to last about an hour. Contact Steve Rohwer for more details.

Feb 4th - Positioning, pre and post snap routines, keys, game tempo

Mar 11th - All about run plays

Mar 25th - All about pass plays

Apr 8th - All about special teams plays

May 13 - Around the Horn with Big 12 Umpire Roscoe Meisenheimer

This session will feature Chris Coyte, Big 10 Referee. Chris is one of the premier major college white hats in the nation. Chris was a guest speaker at the NNFOA preseason clinic in 2017.

Friday: Optional Golf Tournament Washoe County Golf Course, Reno


Cost is $68, which includes a box lunch, cart, green fees, and a bucket of practice balls. Contact Treasurer Rocky Polito (contact info on leadership page) for payment. Closest to pin and long drive awards. Come out and have some fun and show off your not all that great golf skills and help Jerry Winter find his balls! There will be a reception afterwards. if you want to set up a foursome, otherwise you will be assigned to a group. We usually get the day started around 10am and most groups are done by 4pm. 

8am-Saturday til 5pm @ 8am-Sunday til Noon: Classroom, Keynote Speakers and COMMISSIONER'S TEST.  


The NNFOA Andrew Siderius Clinic is open to officials from anywhere. We anticipate once again bringing you the very best in football officiating instruction. Cost for the clinic is $85 which includes 4 meals (B-L-D Sat and breakfast Sun) and President's cocktail reception Saturday. Saturday night will be our NNFOA Hall of Fame Inductee dinner, with keynote speaker Timothy Jackson, the new Executive Director of the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association (NIAA). Attendees are welcome to bring a guest (cost $20 extra per guest).  Unfortunately our preferred out of town site was not available this year. The Best Western and El Dorado have rooms for about $149 a night. (book early because of Hot August Nights Event)


Tentative Clinicians include:

Darryl (DJ) Johnson - 14 yrs Head Line Judge in Pac 12 and now ACC; 2 NCAA National Championship assignments, 4 College Football Playoff semi final assignments, 6 Pac12 or ACC Championship assignments, several other NCAA Bowl game assignments. DJ is a retired police officer with Las Vegas Metro PD.


Tim Kiefer - CEO of MIBT media (online officiating training site), long time college official and HS assigner for Illinois, former SNOA member (currently lives in AZ). Tim worked several state HS championship games in Illinois and also in Nevada. Tim had a long successful career as an Air Traffic Controller in both Chicago and Las Vegas and currently trains future ATCs in AZ.

Roscoe Meisenheimer - Big 12 Umpire, also many years in the Pac 12 and SNOA alumnus

Jacoby Crew in season game review zoom sessions


The Jacoby Crew will host zoom sessions of breakdowns of its varsity and subvarsity games on weeks when there is no general chapter meeting. The sessions will be held Wednesdays from 7:30 to 8:30pm. Anyone from any crew or association is invited to join the session. Tentative dates are:
